Summer Vacation
My husband, Michael, and I enjoyed two weeks in Europe this summer. We traipsed around Paris for a week, taking in the sites by day and enjoying the little outdoor brasseries at night. Then on to Haarlem, Netherlands for a week, where we rented fietsen (bicycles) and pedaled our way along the coast of the North Sea.
In Paris, I was most impressed by the thousand-plus year old architecture, particularly the ancient Roman baths, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, and La Cemetiere Montparnasse where Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Bouvoir are buried together.
In Haarlem, we were both overjoyed at the quality and accessibility of fietsenpad (bike paths), the food, and the interesting atmosphere of respect for law and order but with relaxed social/personal choices.

Wendy, I really like your show a lot. I used to listen to you on the EVIL Neighbor (WCCO 830). But this show is much better. Lets get everybody we know to VOTE Out this Lying Administration that is serving our country.

Hello Wendy Wilde,
My schedule has prevented me from hearing much of your programs but I
sometimes heard you on WCCO when you worked there. WCCO has become
more like KSTP with their Right Wing slant so now I only listen to
their sports, especially the Twins.
I also listen to Franken & Schultz when I can and all three of your
programs are such a relief from the cesspool of Right Wing talk shows.
My great concern is that your programs will be cancelled.
Again I'm so glad you're there and I'm sure many other listeners feel
the same.

Hello Wendy,
A short note to say hello to you. I caught some of your show recently on 1530 AM.
It sounds great and you seem to be having a good time on the air.

Hi,
I heard the caller on your show today who said two women told her that
Pavillion at Crossroads pulled F-911 movie. I called the theatre and
asked the man who answered the phone if they had indeed pulled it, he said no we did
not, we never had it scheduled to be shown here. I asked if they planned to
show it at anytime in the future and he said they do not air the same movies as
their competitior (Har Mar).I compared today's movie listings of Pavillion
with Har Mar and they are not showing any of the same movies.
I thought I should let you know what I found out, I wouldn't be
surprised if you get a lot of heat about this. I hope you don't, but even if you
do, please know that your listeners firmly support you and the show. C'mon
now, it's not like you told a U.S. Senator to F***OFF or blamed Hussein for 911
despite the FACT that he wasn't involved. Among the major differences between
the left and right, is that our side will self correct and that is what fosters
a TRUE DEMOCRACY!!!!!
Keep up the great work and we are with you all the way!

From Wendy: My apologies to the folks at Pavillion Theater for the misinformation, and great thanks to Katy for following up.

Hello,
You are doing an awsome job! But your website
(wendywilde.com) has a few typos (fodder for the
enemy). On the first page "Rebpulican Survivor"...
should be Republican.
Jessy
From Wendy: Got it. Thanks Jessy!

Wendy,
Thank you for taking my call today. As a final note I just wanted to
pass this along.
I keep reading that $10 Billion is enough to pay for healthcare for
every man, woman and child in our country. Tell me that a President
who makes that happen wouldn't immediately get a free pass to a second
term and a positive place in history. That would get a President onto
a $10 bill. Instead we're told we don't have the money but we can
spend $100 Billion on a war half the country doesn't want. It's time
for this issue to be addressed.
Rich H.
From Wendy: So $10 billion would pay for healthcare for every man, woman & child in America for a year?
We are spending $5 billion every MONTH in Iraq.

Wendy, I've listened to much of your talk about work, such as at
Wall-mart, that pays poverty wages and earns corporate profits and sells
cheap goods on the backs of the taxpayer, and I think you're making the
right points. Thanks for the good work. At any rate, I havne't heard you
discuss the book "Nickel & Dimed" by Barbara Ehrenreich. If you
haven't read it, it's a great work.
A writer goes undercover as a low-skilled worker and tries to get any job that she can with an unskilled
worker's resume. She goes to three U.S. cities and tries to live on what
jobs she can get-even giving herself big advantages like a car. In
Minnesota she ends up working at Wall-mart. She cleans houses for Merry
Maids in Maine, and she works as a waitress in Florida. Of course, it was
impossible for her to work in any of these jobs and still support
herself, but the worst, by far was Minnesota where she couldn't even get a
place to live.
At any rate, the book is very short, but very worthy of discussion.
